Bridging Science and Ceremony

Psychedelic science is evolving rapidly, but studying these experiences in a laboratory has limits. Ceremonial retreats offer researchers something distinct: the chance to study these experiences in the setting where they naturally occur, held in community, guided with care, and supported by preparation and integration.

That is why our retreats have served as a study site for university research. We have worked with university researchers for years; the three studies below are examples. Participants at Acsauhaya could voluntarily take part, contributing real- world data to the academic understanding of psychedelic experiences in legal retreat settings.

About This Study

* Data collection completed

This observational study explored how psilocybin truffles, experienced in a legal retreat setting, influence wellbeing, mindfulness, and meaning in life. Participants answered brief daily check-ins on their phone before, during, and after their retreat.

Lead Institution

University of Leiden

Study Duration

2 minutes daily check-ins

Brain Connectivity and Psychedelic Experience

Brain Connectivity and Psychedelic Experience

About This Study

* Data collection completed

This study examined how taking part in a legal psychedelic retreat may alter brain connectivity, and how those changes relate to shifts in personality, wellbeing, and emotional processing. Participants received fMRI brain scans at Leiden University before and after their retreat, followed by three online surveys.

About This Study

* Psychedelic Research

Curious what your journey might reveal, and how you change in the weeks after your psilocybin sessions? Rejuvyn is partnering with an independent doctoral study at the California Institute for Human Science exploring how psilocybin experiences relate to body awareness, mood, and anxiety.

Body awareness, or interoception, is your ability to notice and make sense of the signals coming from inside your body: your breath, your heartbeat, muscular tension, gut feelings. It is closely tied to emotional regulation and to how people integrate a psychedelic experience afterwards, which is why it sits at the heart of this study.

This invitation is for Acsauhaya’s own accepted retreat guests. Taking part is simple and private: about 20 minutes of online questionnaires before your retreat, a 2-minute dose form a few days after your sessions, and another 20 minutes about a month later. Nothing about your retreat changes. As a thank-you, you can request a personal summary of your own before-and-after results to support your integration.
